~ Steeped in History ~ The Vintage Garden Tea House is located in the Gundy house that dates back to 1924 in historic downtown Montgomery, Texas. Originally built by Leuis Ory Gundy and his wife Betty Kelly Gundy, the home was originally located on 112 acres just outside of Montgomery. The Gundy’s raised six children in the home and lived off of the land raising cattle, chickens, cotton and corn. The old house was moved to its present location in historic downtown Montgomery in the 1950s and has since served as a home to multiple Montgomery residents who developed the wonderful garden around the house. Mike and Debbie Perroni purchased the old house in 2006 to full fill Debbie's dream of bringing an old fashion tea house to Montgomery. After several months of hard work the old house was transformed into one of the premier dining and special event establishments in the Montgomery and Conroe area. Mike and Debbie ensured that the historic nature of the home and surrounding garden areas were preserved and they continue to be improved upon. The City of Montgomery is well known as the birth place of the Lone Star flag and for the many historic landmarks and shops located throughout the city.
